PM Lucas Papademos flew to Brussels on Sunday afternoon.
Mr. Papademos wishes to be in the Belgian capital on Monday to have a series of meetings with officials who will be attending the Eurogroup a few hours later.
The senior government officials, after the new memorandum’s adoption and the measures the House will vote on next week, do not want to postpone tomorrow’s meeting about the new loan agreement and the PSI implementation.
It remains open whether the PM will attend the Eurogroup meeting. In the past few days he has been in constant communication with his European counterparts. Last Wednesday, he had a long conversation with German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Two days later, he had a 50-minute conversation with Italian PM Mario Monti and Mrs Merkel once more.
At the same time, he spoke with Europeans from countries with a AAA credit rating, from which most of the complaints have arisen.
The cabinet meeting on Saturday made the final decisions to carry out the prerequisite actions in order for the new loan agreement to take place by the end of February.
