Venizelos: It is imperative that we stay in the euro

Following the statements by Marilisa Xenogiannakopoulou about the risk of Greece falling outside the Eurozone, Evangelos Venizelos spoke about the possibility of the country finding itself out of the euro.

The finance minister and deputy prime minister sent a recorded message from New York on Wednesday night, saying it's imperative to keep Greece in the Eurozone and the European Union.

Venizelos said the next three months will be crucial for the country, and stressed that Greece must remain in the euro at all costs.

He added that the country is already on a good course, citing the austerity budget that was passed in parliament on Tuesday evening .

"I'm confident that the Eurozone leaders will send a clear message to the markets that Europe will overcome the crisis," said the Greek minister.
