Papandreou’s meeting with Venizelos

The main focus of Papandreou’s meeting with Venizelos, which ended shortly before 3.00 pm today, were the new government scheme that will have the broadest possible consensus and how the situation is shaping up in view of the Eurogroup meeting this Monday.
 
The two men agreed that the proceedings for the coalition government must be immediate, and stressed that there must not be any gaps in the operation of the government until the establishment of the new one.
 
For this reason, they scheduled a governmental meeting under the Prime Minister for tomorrow, Sunday.
 
As the finance ministry stresses, the Eurogroup has already approved the disbursement of the 6th tranche, and this is why it will not be discussed. However, as yesterday’s speech by Venizelos’ showed, Greece will try to conclude the matter formally too, since the government has received the confidence vote, but also given the fact that New Democracy has sided with the approval of the new loan agreement.
