Finance ministry speaks of positive climate again

Circles of the Finance Ministry say that the meeting between Venizelos and the Troika was held in a positive atmosphere, and they expressed their satisfaction once again .

Even so, the new meeting confirms that whenever the government and the Troika express their “satisfaction”, new measures automatically follow.

Regarding Venizelos’ first meeting with the auditors, ministry sources stressed that "after the harsh measures and the sacrifices by the Greek people for the defense of our economic status and the regaining of the country’s dignity, the climate of the meeting was positive".

This first meeting included an overview of issues to be addressed y the 5th review of the support program for the Greek economy.

The coming days will also see a series of meetings between Venizelos and other government members and Troika leaders.

The deputy Prime Minister said he is "satisfied and hopeful" about the completion of procedures concerning the decisions of July 21 in all member states, which are vital for the euro and the Eurozone.

Replying to press questions on the ratification of the new EFSF institutional framework, Venizelos also linked the positive result in the German parliament with the fact that Greece sent very clear and decisive messages internationally as a response to its obligations under the support program, which are not towards the Troika and its institutional partners and creditors, but to the country itself and especially to the younger generations.
