Rushing for the Troika
The government is at a race against time in order to manage to meet all the prerequisites from Troika and to pacify the international markets, as well as all the voices that worry about the fate of Greece.
The Troika members are stalling their return to Greece and that has raised several questions nationally and internationally since the initial date for the next check-up was September 14th, but they will be coming some time next week - with no dates confirmed yet.
With those facts at hand, the week that is lost literally equals more than that. To cover lost ground, the Minister of Finance Evangelos Venizelos will have a tele-conference with the Troika on Monday night.
Top priority: cuts in the Public Sector
On Monday Mr.Venizelos will send out instructions on the new regulations for all those Public Servants that are not needed in their positions and for the restructuring of all Public Services.
Until Monday all Ministers must send plans and mutual decisions on the restructuring of all services, mergers and abolitions of organisations, as well as transfers of staff.
New rules on staff evaluation, for all 11 organisations that are shutting down.
By Tuesday the latest the new unified salary calculation for publis sector is going to be finalised.
Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance is trying to
- cash in all the new tax for property through the electricity bills.
- have numbers ready for the new budget of 2012.
- present the new plan of the new National Tax System.
