Pangalos vs citizen, yet again
The arrest of an ERT employee was requested by deputy Prime Minister Theodoros Pangalos at noon on Thursday.
The woman, along with other employees, participated in a protest outside Parliament while Mr. Pangalos’ convoy was being driven through. She made a grimace.
Mr. Pangalos immediately asked the police officers present to arrest the woman and said that he would press charges.
Tension prevailed, with fellow employees requesting her immediate release.
Finally, at 16:00 the protesters left the area outside Parliament, while - as announced by POSPERT representative s- a general assembly of employees will take place in order for them to decide on the issue of the continuation of protests.
The employees are complaining about the decisions to be made by the cabinet about the ERT layoffs.
Earlier on Thursday, however, incidents between protesters and police took place, when the latter tried to repel the protesters using their shields.
This resulted in two injured protesters. One of them was taken to hospital in order to receive first aid after his eyebrow was injured.
