Those redundant in numbers are leaving the public sector!

The institution of "labor reserve" is expanding to include all bodies of the General Government, not just those under abolition or merger.

Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Evangelos Venizelos, said that this will create a "labor reserve pool" and that he has already sent a circular to all ministries to complete the process as soon as possible.

The minister also said that this will apply to employees in small public and private entities, adding that it is impossible for someone to tolerate employees with no portfolio of duties in entities that are not removed.

Furthermore, he said that by joint ministerial decision, additional players will be able to enter the institution of the "labor reserve", beyond those described in the law of the mid-term program.

And once again he repeated that the "labor reserve" will function as described by the relevant law: 12 months of reserve and then a layoff…
