The Council of State and the “bomb” called regulated professions
According to information, an expected decision by the CoS concerning the non-retainment of any regulated profession in our country for any reason whatsoever (either population-related or geographical), will rule their existence as unconstitutional. The decision will be based on the relevant article of Constitution about the free choice of all Greek citizens when it comes to the profession they will decide to follow.

The CoS will thus ratify the governmental decree of July 2, 2011 on the deregulation of professions in the country.
Lorry drivers, bakers, accountants, travel agents etc. are only few of the professionals that the measure concerns.
Nevertheless, taxi drivers remain a “thorn” which at the same time vindicates the minister of Internal Affairs, Yannis Ragoussis.
No limitations for Ragoussis
As things are at the moment, the relevant minister can enforce the taxi deregulation, being fully covered by the law itself.

He is thus expected to make certain announcements based on the new CoS decision enforcement pillars and leave behind him the negative criticism that he drew on his intention to deregulate the profession.
Now, Ragoussis is completely backed by the CoS and needs to fear nothing.
