Ministers a step before a nervous break down

Not only was the resignation of Harris Pampoukis from the Development ministry quite an unexpected turn of events, but it also caused serious side-effects on the government, and mainly on the psychological state of the ministers.

There is a feeling in the air that there is no turning back and that even ministers closely connected to the PM have begun “disembarking” quietly.

For the premier, worse than the loss of a trusted person is the generated view that the government is losing its grip on the shattered Greek reality, and experts fear the leadership will be unable to make it through the fall.

Once again, behind the curtains there are discussions of early elections, although Papandreou has asked for these scenarios to stop being reiterated along the parliamentary corridors.

The rocked economy, along with the explosive picture of society ahead of the TIF (Thessaloniki International Fair), are alarming to the high ranking officials of the PASOK government. However, at this point it is extremely doubtful that solutions could be found for the ministers to tackle the problems and reassure the masses about a serene future.

Many are those who are expecting a certain reaction by the premier, George Papandreou, in order for him to prove that he has all fronts under control.
