“Tombstone” on the huge Siemens scandal
“Tombstone” on the huge Siemens scandal
Not even the MPs of PASOK, the party that was adamant on shedding light on the Siemens scandal, have voted in favour of the legal investigation of the scandal. Therefore the scandal that shook the politics of this country to the core will never be revealed. There goes the government’s commitment to uncover those responsible “even if we have to bleed”!

Only 149 voted for the decision since the other political parties were absent from the voting as a gesture of discontent. The numbers show that of the PASOK MPs, 19 went against the official position of the party by not voting for the indictement of Mr. Alogoskoufis and 21 by not voting for the indictment of Mr. Markogiannakis.
The result of the voting became apparent when there were some …bizarre absences. Mr. Dimitris Papoutsis and Mr. Savvas Eminidis said they were ill, and then Mr.Thomas Robopoulos and Mrs Vasso Papandreou were simply absent and Mr.Togias was abroad.
After the voting, the Parliamentary team of PASOK published an announcement clarifying that “the government did its best to uncover the Siemens scandal. The other parties, and especially ND, did not help shed light on this case. In all circumstances, all incidents that involve politicians are for the MPs to vote on according to their conscience.”
