19-year old Briton stabbed to death in Zante

A 19-year old tourist from Britain is the victim of a bloody fight in the early hours of Wednesday morning in the Laganas area, Zante. The man who killed him appears to be a local taxi driver.

According to latest police information, the event took place outside a fast food restaurant situated on the main street of Laganas. The victim and his four male friends apparently got into a quarrel with two taxi drivers who had parked their cars along the road.

The offender said that he and his colleague were disturbed by the use of the laser pens the Britons were holding and aiming them at the two men. A bit later, the driver took a knife from inside his taxi and stabbed the victim in the heart. His friends also suffered injuries all over their bodies.   

Straight after the scuffle, the killer and his friend disappeared and threw the murder weapon in the sea.

Three hours later the police arrested both men. As for the knife, it was recovered by divers who found it in the morning at the spot where the taxi driver stated that he had thrown it away a few hours before.
