They are pushing back the education bill
The passing of the education bill is being pushed back. It was initially to be put to the vote in July!
Reportedly, the Diamantopoulou bill will be tabled in Parliament by late July and is scheduled to be voted on between late August and early September.
Mrs. Diamantopoulou has set a condition that in order for the new program to be followed, the university community should present their view.
University deans had asked for three months' leeway in order to study the bill. Sources from the Ministry of Education indicate that in the event that no proposals are submitted, the process will be accelerated, though objectively it cannot happen much earlier, or in any case before the end of August.
This means that it is quite possible that the new academic year will begin and the educational community will not even know the context it will be moving in as far as higher education is concerned, as well as where or when the changes will be applied.
