I gave blood for police officers and they arrested me!
"I went on the May 11th march and I ended up in prison.. I was beaten heavily by MAT special police forces.. they said i had a bag of Molotov bombs that they had planted on me.. I am not a person against authority or a hooligan. I gave blood for the police officers that were injured on March 2nd and now they accuse me of being an anarchist".

This is the account of a 21-year-old university student inside his cell at Koridalos prison, where he speaks to protothema.gr and says he has nothing to do with all the charges against him.
He is parallelizing his case with the one of another student in Thessaloniki in a pair of green converse shoes that was heavily beaten by police, simply because he wore the same colour shoes as a suspect.
The police is claiming that Mr. Dimou was wearing a mask, had a bag full of Molotov bombs and threw a stone at them.
The incident occured at around 1o clock on May 11th.
"I was at the centre with three friends to join the march. Around 13.00 pm we heard explosions and we tried to run away from the riots. We were at Panepistimiou Street and some anarchists were running side by side with us. MAT forces were after then and at some point I found myself in front of a large mall and realised I had lost my friends. I had a surgical mask with me and I wore it. It was just a white surgical mask. I had nothing else on me. No ID, not my car keys which I had given to my friend that had pockets. I fell in front of the mall and then police came after me started kicking me on the head and body, swearing at me and spraying me with tear gas. After all this, they cuffed me."

Afterwards, one of the police officers came with a backpack and told me "what the f... is this?" and I replied I didn't know, it was not mine. He opened it, saw Molotov bombs inside and said to his colleagues "Arrest him!". I kept trying to explain to them and they told me to shut up whilst kicking me. I kept shouting that the bag is not mine but they said "we saw you throwing stones at us". They started hitting me against of the street, and said "You a... they are going to f... you in prison". Then they took me to other colleagues as if I were a trophy, saying "we caught the a..." When we reached a spot with many police officers I had to wait kneeling and cuffed for the police car to collect me. I continued telling them it was not my bag and they said "If it is not yours it won't have your prints on". My fingerprints were not on the bag as it was proven afterwards. But when I did declare my innocence one of the officers told me "It doesn't matter if it is or not. It is a gift from us!"
From the moment he was arrested, Fotis Dimou has been insisting he is not a hooligan or an anarchist, and that he was not part of the group of 100 people that had covered their faces that day and attacked the police. "I am a student and I have never taken part in episodes and riots. I have a clean record with the police and I have never been arrested. And in a split second I was suddenly in prison" he explains, whilst clarifying that "I am not a memeber of any anarchist group and I have given blood for the police officers that were shot down and it is written in the hospital records. I am in contact with the fellow student in the green shoes who was accused a few years back and he is encouraging me and giving me advice about all the things I am going through because he has been there too."
