Pangalos is asking for partial removal of permanent contracts
Theodoros Pangalos is not only defending the now-historic “We spent it together”, but he is also moving to counterattack by writing a book to substantiate his views…
UPD:
This is not a joke, as the vice president speaking on national television on Saturday morning, announced he is writing a book entitled “We spent it together: who, when and why”!
And in support of his argument, he characteristically said “we have all avoided asking for a receipt about a small service we received”. Obviously, this will be one of his arguments in the book.
Pangalos also reiterated the government’s will to shut down 40 organizations that “ignored” him by not submitting any data. Deadlines were given as he said, but 40 organizations did not respond. “The deadline ended yesterday. Next week, after the committee meeting, those that have not responded will be shut down.” He also placed himself in favor of the partial removal of permanent contracts in the public sector.
“It must only be limited to the constitutional meaning of the term”, he characteristically mentioned, pointing out that it can be retained for “police officers, army personnel, teachers, and maybe tax officers. I can’t understand why waiters have to be permanent employees”.
He also said there must be the managerial right for layoffs in organizations, so that such a company could operate under private sector terms, competitively that is, otherwise it becomes a ministry.
