After the arrest of two of the murderers of the 44yo Manolis Kantaris, it is interesting to see the statistical data from the first four days of the new operational plan for patrolling Athens, which are being studied by Hellenic Police analysts in order to determine how successful it is.

According to the official data, a total of 659 officers took part in the operation during the first week, checking 3.018 people, 497 vehicles and 77 stores.

Of those, 1.876 were brought in for identification purposes, while 162 were arrested. 1.107 tickets for traffic violations were issued, mainly for seat belts, helmets and cell phone use while driving.

Regarding immigrants in the wider centre of Athens, 110 people have been arrested and will be deported.

In addition, 12 people were arrested for breaking the law on narcotics, 18 for breaking the law on prostitution, 2 purse thieves and 5 card cheaters, while small amounts of narcotics, drugs, pills and other illegal trade items were seized.
