Athens was out of control yesterday afternoon until late at night. A guerilla war was taking place in several areas of the city centre between anti-authoritarians, police and foreigners.
The latest EKAV review says that 15 people, mostly foreigners, were transported to hospitals. Among them is a Greek who was attacked by a group of foreigners and anti-authoritarians at Victoria Square because he was wearing a hat with a Greek flag.
Also, far right-wing groups caused damage to foreigners’ shops. Two policemen were injured in the incidents that occurred during the second march from the Propylaea to Syntagma. Groups of young people caused damage to three stores and a company office.
Throughout these intense hours police proceeded to 50 arrests of people from far right-wing organizations.
Crowds of people holding candles gathered early yesterday afternoon at the corner of 3rd Septemvriou and Ipirou, where in the early hours of Tuesday Manolis Kantaris lost his life in such a tragic way, just before his wife gave birth to their second child.
Late at night on Thursday, the anti-authoritarians left Propylaea, where previously there had been clashes between them and the riot police.

The occupation of the Athens University Senate building, again by anti-authoritarians, is still in progress.
