The wife of the Deputy Prime Minister filed a lawsuit against a resident of Keratea who called her “Mrs. Pangalos” and is requesting that the person be jailed for 12 months and pay up to 300,000 in moral damages.
Specifically, Christina Christofaki resorted to judicial measures against Ms. Eleftheria Psychogiou after the latter’s public appearance on Lakis Lazopoulos’ show “Al Tsantiri News”, on which the former was called Mrs. Pangalos.
According to her filed complain, Mrs. Christofaki considers it derogatory to be attributed her husband’s last name, since she believes it was deliberately used in order to offend her: “The defendant attempts to identify me with my husband and his political choices, in effect insulting my own personality”, she stated.
“The defendant launched a targeted, unethical and unprovoked attack against me, using false and highly defamatory allegations which were intended to point the finger at me as a moral or physical perpetrator of the loss of an unborn child. She paints me as an immoral person, corrupt and uncaring about the social events in the region. The defendant also tried to interpret my choices and actions as those of my husband's, Theodoros Pangalos, in order to eventually brutally insult my honor and my reputation and tarnish my image as a political entity who deals with the current events of the country”.
It is not the first time, however, that the wife of the Deputy Prime Minister resorts to justice and moves to a lawsuit against a citizen, seeking damages as compensation for her wounded honour and reputation.

Shortly before the 2010 elections, when Mrs. Christofaki was in the Saronicos borough ballot, she had filed a lawsuit against student-blogger Evangelos Mytilineos, requesting 1 million in damages and 20,000 euros each time he mentioned her name publicly.
