Final rehearsal for stoppage of payments

The decision of the workers at the General Accounting Office to go on a four-day strike starting today, seems to be an exercise for a "mini" stoppage of payments for the Greek state.

Until next week it will be practically impossible to issue payment orders and transfers, so that both individuals and companies that are owed ​​to by the state, and the state budget grantees of the wider public sector, will not be paid for this period.

Regarding the payment of salaries, pensions and Easter bonuses, however, they should not be a problem, as the General Secretariat of Information Systems has already issued the payroll. Likewise, the payment of public debt, interests, etc. will not be compromised either.

The exception is perhaps only some recent retirees who have not been paid by the General Accounting Office before (eg if they submitted their papers for retirement in January), for whom payment will be delayed by approximately one week.

Albeit a fraction with government leanings, PASKE is leading this action of workers in the General Accounting Office, reacting to the prospect of elimination, merger or transfer to other agencies of some services and departments operating for decades in the Finance Ministry and the General Accounting Office State.
