We are at the end of the tunnel

Patience and decisiveness was what the Prime Minister asked of all members of the government during the cabinet meeting today, since he characterized the situation we are in as a marathon. He mentioned that he is trying to display these two characteristics himself, and askedMinister’s and Vice Ministers to have the same approach in order to keep a clear head.

He mentioned that “we are moving towards the end of the crisis”, pointing out however that this is not the end of the problems and the economic struggles. He also commented on the positioning of his party in the media, saying that the Greek media tend to twist reality and that needs to stop. The only solution is to work hard.

He also commented on the evaluation of the country by S&P and others, saying they are extremely pessimistic and panicky. But he predicted that since they have been wrong before, they will be so now as well. He also commented on the debt and public expenditure by saying that “we have entered the core of the problem and what needs to happen is a 'cleaning out' of the system first, and then a fight against unnecessary expenditure”.  Regarding the selling of property and companies that belong to the State, the Prime Minister suggested that government members are united in one single voice.
