"Charles de Gaulle" in Crete

After dark this Wednesday, the French aircraft carrier Charles De Gaulle will be in international waters south of Crete since the participation of NATO in the operation that will stop any transportation of weapons to Libya has been official since 19.00 today.

The pride of the French fleet will carry French fighter jets, which will take off from its decks for operations in Libya. The Frnech officials have asked permission from the Greek authorities in order to be able to cross Greek waters and air.

The American submarine Scranton will be in the waters of Souda in Crete on the 25^th of March for supplies. According to sources, the ship will remain in Marathi for two days and then it will join the rest of the forces in Libya.

The Greek ship “Limnos”, which today is at the naval station in Crete, is possibly going to participate in the same operation. The ship “Themistoklis” is in Libyan open waters .The official NATO intervention is commencing at 19.00. Six American aircraft (Two RC-135s, Two KC-135s and two aircraft carrier planes) and six Norwegian F-16s, as well as two Mirage-2000 from Qatar, will land at Souda.
