Emergency meetings between Papandreou and political leaders

Dramatic political developments unfold in view of the March summit 25th, during which the hot topic of the debt crisis in Eurozone countries will be addressed, and strong focus will be given to the Greek problem.

According to confirmed information, Prime Minister Papandreou contacted all political leaders on Thursday evening, requesting a meeting in order to form a comprehensive update on developments.

Specifically, Mr. Papandreou’s meeting schedule for next Tuesday will be:
-At 10 am with the President of New Democracy, Antonis Samaras
-At 2pm with the Secretary General of the Greek Communist Party, Aleka Papariga
-At 4pm with the President of SYRIZA, Alexis Tsipras
-The exact time of his meeting with President of LAOS, Mr. George Karatzaferis is still pending.

The Prime Minister seeks to pave the way for a concerted effort by all European political parties in order to promote Greece’s positionsin view of the summit.

It is worth noting that political leaders in recent days had refused invitations to meetings sent to them by Finance Minister Giorgos Papakonstantinou.
