He set himself on fire inside the church!

The desperate usually seek shelter in a church so they can pray… But the 49yo man that entered St Constantine’s church in Volos on Monday afternoon had lost his last hope and chose the sacred place to end his life, luckily without managing it.

The few people inside the church froze when they saw the man dousing his clothes with a flammable liquid and trying to set himself on fire with a lighter. One of them fell on him and wrestled him to the ground, extinguishing the flames before they engulfed him for good.

The prospective suicide, who lives in the St. Onoufrios area, was transported to the Volos Hospital, where it was found that he has psychological problems, while two pills were found on him. In his pockets was a note saying that he was experiencing financial problems and so he had decided to end his life...
