UPD:
Tolis Voskopoulos was sentenced to three years' imprisonment by the 7th
First Instance Court of Athens for tax violations during the period
between1993-1997. Among the charges is the non-issuing of receipts for his shows during those years. The singer's debts to the IRS amount to 5,5 million and he had asked to enter the process of completion.
Voskopoulos did not appear in court but was represented by his lawyers, who appealed right after sentensing; thus, the singer is free until the appeal trial. It should be noted that the government's lawyers argued at the trial that the singer's debts to the IRS cannot be subject to regulation procedures and that the artist has to pay.
