7 former ministers from ND and 5 from PASOK on the way to the preliminary

The die has been cast for the inquiry committee on the Siemens scandal, the members of which have concluded their last meeting and given their final verdic,t asking for further investigation on former ministers, 5 from PASOK and 7 from ND.

In detail, the proposal of the PASOK MPs (they are the majority) is asking for the further investigation of these former ministers per case :

Prokopis Pavlopoulos (ND)
Viron Polidoras (ND)
Christos Markogiannakis (ND)

4. Culture (ordering of electronic Siemens guides for museums)
Mihalis Liapis (ND)

5. Weapons (Patriot – Hermes)
Akis Tsohatzopoulos (PASOK)

6. Cover up
Giorgos Alogoskoufis (ND) (removal of Zorbas from the Authority against
«black» money)
Giannis Papathanasiou

It should be noted that in the findings there isn't a diffrentiation in the imputation of political or criminal liability, further investigation will be asked for and future parliamentary procedures will be tasked with deciding who will be subjected to a preliminary hearing.

Conclusive positions

ND
It imputes former PM Kostas Simitis and former and present PASOK ministers, Tasos Mantelis, Christos Verelis, Giorgos Papakonstantinou, Akis Tsohatzopoulos, Nikos Christodoulakis, Evangelos Malesios and Giannos Papantoniou.

ND is not asking for further investigation into their acts, but it clarifies that it will have no qualms about setting up a preliminary investigation committee that in addition to persons proposed by PASOK, will investigate the acts of those which it names in its conclusion.

KKE
It will ascribe permanent liability to PASOK and ND, while asking for further investigation of all those who signed, executed or modified project agreements with the German company.

SYRIZA
It charges PASOK and ND and commits to a statement about whom it will ask for further investigation on.

LAOS
It will ask for further investigation on: Kostas Simitis, Tasos Mantelis, Akis Tsohantzopoulos, Giorgos Alogoskoufis, Dora Bakogianni, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and the treasurers of PASOK and ND.

Differentiations
Besides the official positions, there were some differentiations. More specifically, Pantelis Oikonomou from PASOK denies that Verelis in OTE and Papantoniou and Polidoras in C4I bear any responsibility. Papathanasiou and Makripidis asked for Verelis to be exempted.

Differentiations from the ND proposal came from Panos Kamenos who asked for further investigation on: Mantelis, Simitis, Papantoniou, Cristodoulakis, Tsohatzopoulos, Papakonstantinou, Malesios, Markogiannakis and Liapis. Anastasios Neratzis and Maria Kollia Tsarouha expressed their refusal to accept Verelis’ involvement.

The finding will be delivered to the president of Parliament possibly next Monday, and the only thing left will be the official proposal from at least 30 ministers towards the Plenary, who will be asking for the setting up of a preliminary committee.
