Lifting the toll bars once more on the 6th of February.

Determined to continue their struggle against the raising of the toll bars action, 21 committees across Greece, combined with 18 local and borough unions, will organize a defense against next day's dynamic return.

Citizen action ranging from Salonica to the Peloponnese, the borough of Lamia, the Consumer's Institute, bus services, paraplegic associations and political parties will form a coalition against the common enemy of tolls and take action, while companies try to form their own counterattack to claim what is owed by those who have passed through the tolls without paying.

Dropping the tactics of electronic tolls, electronic cards and byways that the government has attempted to institute to solve the puzzle of non-payment, the next step of local action is the formation of a legal committee.

This Committee will be formed by professional lawyers who will attempt to decode legal documents in order to request that road works are transferred to an appropriate public sector company that can be controlled publicly rather than remain in the hands of private corporations.

The trumpet call of the movements is extending too other social groups that face problems due to the economic crisis, especially the agricultural sector, the workers of which are encouraged to raise the toll bars instead of blocking the roads.

It is now a proven fact that neither the "scarecrows" that are cameras nor the use of personal data is enough to bend the will of citizens all across the country, who decided upon new movements in last Saturday's meeting of the Hellenic Coordination initiative.

The next common action by the committees will be undertaken on the 6th of February, while there will also be a Pan-Peloponnesean Coordination Against Tolls meeting on Sunday the 23rd.

In the area of the Peloponnese, the wave of drivers against tolls was not this big, but seeing as the toll fares rise because of the recent upward change in prices, and while the Patras- Corinth road is still showing signs of a third-world country road tarmac, the toll-bar raising actions seem to be multiplying exponentially.
