Ένα από τα πιο ιδιαίτερα hypercars στον κόσμο, η Gordon Murray T.50, πουλήθηκε σε δημοπρασία στην Καλιφόρνια. Πρόκειται για την πρώτη φορά που το συγκεκριμένο μοντέλο εμφανίστηκε σε δημόσια πώληση στη Βόρεια Αμερική. Η δημοπρασία διοργανώθηκε από την Broad Arrow Auctions και πραγματοποιήθηκε στο πλαίσιο του event California Mille. Μάλιστα, πρόκειται για μια σπάνια περίπτωση όπου η δημοπρασία αφορούσε ένα και μόνο αυτοκίνητο. Η συγκεκριμένη T.50 έχει αριθμό πλαισίου 009 και έχει διανύσει μόλις 43 χιλιόμετρα. Κατασκευάστηκαν μόλις 100 μονάδες παγκοσμίως, κάτι που την κάνει εξαιρετικά σπάνια και περιζήτητη. Κάτω από το καπό βρίσκεται ένας ατμοσφαιρικός V12 που φτάνει έως και τις 12.000 σ.α.λ., ενώ το μοντέλο ξεχωρίζει και για τη διάταξη με κεντρική θέση οδήγησης, κάτι που θυμίζει έντονα τη φιλοσοφία της McLaren F1, την οποία είχε επίσης σχεδιάσει ο Gordon Murray. Η αρχική τιμή της T.50 όταν παρουσιάστηκε ήταν περίπου 2,8 εκατομμύρια ευρώ, ενώ τώρα ο νέος ιδιοκτήτης πλήρωσε ούτε λίγο ούτε πολύ 8.035.000 δολάρια για να την κάνει δική του. Η εκτόξευση αυτή της τιμής οφείλεται τόσο στη σπανιότητα όσο και στο γεγονός ότι πρόκειται για ένα από τα τελευταία «καθαρά» θερμικά supercars, σε μια εποχή που η αυτοκίνηση στρέφεται προς την ηλεκτροκίνηση. Παράλληλα το συγκεκριμένο αυτοκίνητο διαθέτει επίσης μοναδικό εξοπλισμό και εξατομικευμένο εσωτερικό, με δέρμα και Alcantara, ενώ συνοδεύεται από πλήρες πακέτο αξεσουάρ για τον ιδιοκτήτη.
