The German newspaper Bild confronts Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrisohoidis. In an article entitled: “Disgusting: A Greek Minister is slandering prostitutes”, the newspaper attacks the Greek minister for the publicizing of the identities of the prostitutes who tested positive for HIV.After stressing that all of Greece knows that these women are HIV positive, the newspaper article also draws attention to the fact that a few hours before the election there is a “dirty election campaign going on”.
It states: “A short time before the parliamentary elections of the bankrupt country, the Media are libeling these sick women, while at the same time the Greek authorities are speaking of a great achievement”.
The newspaper accuses Michalis Chrisohoidis of choosing a cheap way to get votes while the country is sinking financially and is in a terrible state.
After the publication of the pictures, the Minister stated: “The publication of photographs is legal," the minister said, adding that the men who came into contact with prostitutes "should realize the danger”.
